Big Mysteries: Extra Dimensions

Produced By Don Lincoln, Ph.D.

Extra dimensions is a term used in modern physics theories – a term that is often misunderstood.

People think about parallel universes, like ones in which the Nazis one World War II or the Star Trek episode where Mr. Spock had a beard.  However, the truth is quite different.  Extra dimensions, which may well be an incorrect hypothesis, are one possible explanation for why gravity is so much weaker than the other forces.  In this video, Great Courses professor Dr. Don Lincoln explains it all with the help of a talking rabbit.
